Steve Emerson is a Principal Geoscience Data and Software Manager at the EERC, where he works with research, information technology, and contracts staff to procure, manage, and maintain geoscience and other software licenses; develops and maintains databases; and organizes and manages geoscience data in support of EERC projects. Steve has 32 years of oil and gas experience, including 24 years of E&P data management and application support. He holds an A.A.S. degree in Computer Science from Collin College, Plano, Texas. Prior to his position at the EERC, Steve was an Independent Professional with Hunt Oil Company.
“I’m happy to have the opportunity to work on a diverse group of projects that make a difference for cleaner and more efficient energy,” Steve said. He had previously worked with the EERC during his 16 years at Denbury.
Steve is from Plano, Texas, and currently resides in Celina, Texas. He and his wife have two children. During the summer months, he spends time traveling to watch his son play baseball, and when he has extra time, he enjoys fishing, camping in the Texas Hill Country, hunting, and smoking BBQ.
