EERC Welcomes New Employees

Over the past three months, four new employees have joined the team. We are happy to welcome them to the EERC!

Erik Solie
Research Engineer

Before coming to the EERC, Erik was working as a summer lab intern for the Department of Environmental Quality in Bismarck, North Dakota. Before that, he was a part of the 2022 Energy Hawks Program. Erik is originally from Bismarck, North Dakota, and some of his hobbies include traveling, reading, cooking, listening to music, and playing video games.

Ethan Nowak
Principal Geophysicist

Prior to coming to the EERC, Ethan was a Geophysical Advisor with CHK. He was interested in joining the EERC because of the 4D seismic monitoring of CO2 work we’ve done in the past. Ethan is originally from New York; is a father and a husband; and enjoys gardening, saltwater fishing, and furniture making.

George Flanagan
Maintenance Technician

Prior to coming to the EERC, George worked for UND’s facilities/maintenance group and was interested in the EERC because of our professionalism. George is originally from South Dakota and enjoys fishing, hunting, glamping, building sporting rifles, and restoring antique saddles.

Jamie Schod
Research Manager

Jamie first heard about the EERC through the faculty and students at UND and was initially interested in the position because of his geologic background and previous work experience in relation to certain research projects. Prior to coming to the EERC, Jamie was a Staff Geologist/Project Manager at Terracon Consultants, Inc. Jamie is originally from Williston, North Dakota, and enjoys geology, science, hiking, working on cars, building and customizing PCs, playing games, and stargazing.
