Tyler Hamman Joins EERC as AVP for Strategic Partnerships

GRAND FORKS, ND – Tyler Hamman recently accepted the position of Assistant Vice President for Strategic Partnerships at the Energy & Environmental Research Center (EERC) at the University of North Dakota (UND). 

Hamman previously worked as the Vice President of Government Relations at Basic Electric Power Cooperative. Hamman began his career with Basin Electric Power Cooperative in 2017 as a Senior Legislative Representative after several years of working as the Director of Government Affairs at the Lignite Energy Council as well as Director of the North Dakota Transmission Authority. Prior to that, Hamman worked on energy and environmental policy as a congressional staffer in Washington, D.C.

“This position fills a critical role on our partnerships team, providing insight and strategy to our client relationships,” said John Harju, EERC Vice President for Strategic Partnerships. “We are excited to work with Tyler in his new position and build on his exceptional experience.” 

Hamman joins John Hamling and Scott Klara, Assistant Vice Presidents for Strategic Partnerships, and John Harju, Vice President for Strategic Partnerships, to round out the team. 

The EERC is recognized as one of the world’s leading developers of cleaner, more efficient energy and environmental technologies. Since 1951, the EERC has grown from a federal lignite research facility to a total-systems team with extensive experience, multidisciplinary staff, global partnerships, and state-of-the art facilities. The EERC is a research unit of the University of North Dakota.
