Sam Landa is a Software Developer at the EERC, where he works on a team of programmers and database administrators who develop software and websites for internal and external clients. He is responsible for designing, implementing, testing, and maintaining applications within all phases of the software development cycle. Sam holds a B.S. degree in Computer Science from UND. His principal areas of interest and expertise include software and web development, user interface design, and mathematical modeling.
Sam was interested in this new role because he has always liked the problem-solving side of computer science. He appreciates that this position will allow him to work on a wide variety of projects and learn new skills.
Because Sam enjoyed growing up in Thompson, North Dakota, he is happy to be able to continue living in the area while starting his career. He enjoys anything outdoors, including taking walks, biking, playing Frisbee golf, and ice skating. He is also a big UND hockey fan. Sam has taken an interest in the history of Grand Forks; he likes looking at old aerial photos and learning about how the city has grown over the years.
